On Sunday, my husband presided at the funeral of the father of one of our friends. Tomorrow night, I’ll lead the memorial service for a church member who passed away Sunday night.
Fourteen years ago, my dad died on December 26, so I know this is not a unique phenomenon.
So today I would like to dedicate this space to the memory of the people who have died in this season. It’s always hard, but it’s especially tough when you can see Christmas trees as you leave the hospital with your loved one’s belongings, lights as you drive into a home that won’t ever be the same. I’d like to request your prayers for these families, and all the others, for peace and for the Light in the darkness to truly be light for them this year.
